As per section 59 of NDMC Act, 1994, Chief Auditor is required to conduct audit of accounts of NDMC and to present a report thereof to the Council. Besides , the Chief Auditor is also to conduct the statutory audit of various Departments of the New Delhi Municipal Council and also present the report thereof to the Council.

The organizational structure of the Audit Department is as under :

Functions : To conduct statutory audit of accounts of NDMC in accordance with the provisions of section 59 of NDMC Act, 1994 and to present a report thereon to the Council.
