1 150 Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi
1.1 In order to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma
Gandhi, father of the nation, I propose various programmes as under:-
(i) Keeping in view the need for sustainable skill development initiatives,
NDMC shall bear the fees of the girl child of safaisevaks, malies,
khallasis and beldars for skill training at Pradhan Mantri Kaushal
Kendra, Mandir Marg.
(ii) Sarai Kale Khan Housing Project: 3.0 Acres of land has been
allotted by DDA to NDMC. I propose to construct type-II flats at
Sarai Kale Khan for SafaiSevaks, Malis, Khallasis and Beldars. The
project will be completed in 2 years after award of work. Architectural
drawings for construction of Type-II flats are under process. The work
is likely to be awarded within next one year with targeted completion
as December 2022.
(iii) Around 48 Roll Call Centres have been constructed for the Safai
Sevaks. It is proposed to provide the facility of Tea for the safaisevaks
at these Roll Call Centres.
(iv) A modern multi-sports facility for girls will be developed at the Mini
Stadium in Balmiki Mandir Complex.
(v) A Modern Library cum Reading room cum Activity centre will be
developed in the Balmiki Mandir Complex.
(vi) For the girl child of SafaiSevaks, Malis, Khallasis and Beldars who
secure 60% or more marks in Class-X financial scholarship per month
upto class-XII shall be granted.
