4.17.2 It is proposed to start a certificate course to provide expertise in the
fields of Urban Gardening like vertical gardening, nursery management, green
waste management, landscaping, floral designs, boards, tree management, etc.
in collaboration with Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) by developing
short term certification courses, and all the requisite work will be undertaken
during the year 2019-20 to offer such courses, and the certificate courses will
be offered by NDMC from the academic session 2019-20.

4.18 Development of New Nurseries
NDMC is having pieces of land near (i) Jor Bagh Road near Metro Station,
and (ii) near DilliHaat under the Bara Pulla Flyover at West Kidwai Nagar. It
is proposed to develop these pieces of land as Nurseries during the year 2019-
20 to meet NDMC's requirement to maintain the standard of state-of-the-art
green NDMC wherein various species of the trees, plants, shrubs, ground
covers etc. may be prepared.

4.19 Procurement of eco-friendly battery Operated Carts and e-Scooters

4.19.1 As an approach to make NDMC area environment friendly, it is
proposed to ply battery operated carts to lift and transport horticulture material
and green waste from different avenues to nearby compost pits during the year
2019-20.

4.19.2 It is also proposed to strengthen the Horticulture Department deploy
e-scooter in the year 2019-20 for day to day surveillance and upkeep of the
major garden.

4.20 In the coming year, I propose to spend a sum of Rs.120.66 crore
towards horticultural activities, out of which Rs. 8.44 crore is for Capital
works.
