(v) replacing existing water system infrastructure at Pillanji Village,
Sarojini Nagar to improve the quality and quantity of water supply;
(vi) drinking water fountains have been provided at 15 NDMC buildings,
and such drinking water fountains will be installed at further 20
locations.
6.2.2 It is proposed to install 40 Nos. Water ATMs under PPP model in the
market areas, for which tender has already been invited and the work is likely
to be awarded by March, 2019 and is likely to be completed by June, 2019.
6.2.3 Phase I of 24x7 Water Supply
6.2.3.1 NDMC has already floated the tender of Phase I of 24x7 Water
Supply Project in NDMC area after vetting by ASCI, in which the following
major works are proposed to be executed:
(i) replacement of 100% house service connection
(ii) replacement with 100% AMI Water Meters
(iii) water balancing and survey of NDMC area
(iv) one pilot DMA creation with sensors and local SCADA.
6.2.3.2 Two bids have been received which are under evaluation. The
approximate cost of the work is Rs. 75 crore and the work is likely to be
awarded by February, 2019. The work is likely to be completed by March,
2020. This work will not only enhance the quality and quantity of water
supply to each households due to replacement of house service connection, but
will result into real-time consumption of water by each household, which will
help in optimization of scarce water resources in NDMC area.
6.2.4 Mist Spraying Canon Machines
Considering the problem of increasing air pollution, especially in high
vehicular movement areas, it is proposed to procure 4 Nos. of Mist Spraying
Cannon Machines, which will throw mini water droplets in the air upto an
height of around 80 to 100 meters which will captures the pollution
particulates from the air and creates a breezing effect in the area. On the basis
of performance of these Mist Spraying Cannon Machines, more such
machines will be procured.
