but also have following facilities to cater to the needs of the students regarding
Art, Painting, Music, Drum and Dance, sports, reading habit etc.
(i) Co-curricular classes: Art Classes in School / Workshop- Painting /
Music/Dance
Co-curricular activities play a vital role in the all round development of
students. NDMC schools through various ways are already encouraging
students to participate in various co-curricular activities. To have this
participation equivalent to the best schools in Delhi, These cluster
centres will act as zonal centres for painting/music/dance/sports
activities. Under the project the centres will be provided State of Art
facilities and financial assistance to make the centres a State of the Art
Centre for culture and sports.
(ii) Opening of Library after School hours
In our Secondary and Sr. Secondary schools, digital libraries have been
set up with good civil infrastructure, computer peripherals, Wi-Fi
network for online books and latest books on the racks. The libraries
are now being used by the students during the school hours. There is a
demand that these libraries should be opened for some time after the
school hours for their optimum utilization. Digital libraries in these
schools will be opened after the school hours for the benefit of our
students.
(iii) As I said earlier, there are four important dimensions of learning i.e.
reading, writing, listening and speaking. These four skills play a vital
role in education and in the personality development of the students.
Students with higher level of abilities in these four skills are quite
successful in their career. Keeping in view of the importance of
communication skills in fostering academic excellence and personality
development of a child, an state-of-the-art centre for communication
skills having all necessary infrastructure will be set-up. NDMC will put
special emphasis for development of such skills whereas various
activities like debate, group discussions, essay competition etc., through
use of smart classes, digital library, computer labs, language labs and
other technological interventions. I also propose to engage consultants
in four schools for inculcating and fostering these skills among students.
