        5.4.4.13.1    Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D Waste) is collected
        on the basis  of  requests  received  through NDMC 311 App by red-colour
        dedicated 10 Auto-Tippers each having capacity of 2MT, which transfer the
        C&D waste  to 19 dedicated red colour  large bins each having capacity of
        20MT. 3 other 20MT capacity dedicated  red colour large bins have been
        deployed in NDMC area for decentralized collection of C&D waste. Three
        hook loaders each having one red colour large bins of capacity 20 MT and 4
        medium capacity dedicated red  colour trucks each having capacity of 10 MT
        deployed  for collection  of C&D waste  from the sites directly, are used to
        transfer the C&D waste from NDMC area to the centralized Recycling Plant at
        Shastri Park, Delhi. All the vehicles have GPS and vehicle monitoring system
        which  is monitored  from the Command & Control Center  at NDMC
        Headquarters.

        5.4.4.13.2   In NDMC contracts, it has been made mandatory to use recycled
        products, minimum @2% and 10% in building and road works respectively.
        Special conditions in this regard is also being stated in the draft NITs whereby
        the  recycled products such as aggregates, sand,  pavers, bricks, etc. are
        necessarily to be used in the contract for appropriate items of scheduled work,
        wherever  feasible, failing which recovery at the double rates of  recycled
        products  are to be effected against the  agencies  subject to conditions
        mentioned therein. Additionally, in the year 2018, NDMC is procuring
        products made of recycled C&D waste, such as coarse sand, stone aggregate,
        etc. This has brought effective removal as well as scientific disposal of C&D
        debris without polluting the environment.


        5.4.4.14   Scientific collection and disposal of Electronic Waste (e-waste):

        5.4.4.14.1   Electronic Waste (e-Waste) comprises of waste  electronic/
        electrical goods which are not fit for their  originally intended  use.  These
        include  items such as computers, cellular  phones, stereos,  refrigerators, air-
        conditioners, other consumer durables, etc.

        5.4.4.14.2   In a first of its kind initiative, NDMC has awarded the work to a
        registered firm having a valid registration certificate  issued by CPCB or
        SPCC. The firm will  start the facility of  door-to-door collection of e-waste
        from residences and offices falling under the  jurisdiction of NDMC by
        February 2019.
