garden and avenues. The tender for tree census has been floated, and the work
for the same is likely to be awarded by March, 2019, wherein the survey is to
be completed in the year 2019-20.

4.14 Audit of Plantation undertaken by NDMC
For the plantation done in the year 2016-17, green survey audit was conducted
through Indian Agriculture Research Institute, Delhi (IARI), which certified
72% survival rate of timber plants planted by NDMC. Green survey audit for
the plantation for the year 2017-18 have been given to the Indian Agriculture
Research Institute, Delhi. I propose to continue this audit for the year 2018-
19, for which the work has been given to the Indian Agriculture Research
Institute, Delhi.

4.15 Sharing tree details with public through QR Code

4.15.1 In the year 2018-19, information of 100 heritage / rare / unique / bio-
diversified Trees in the Lodhi Garden have been made available through QR
code scanning, which provides details of a tree, including its age, lifespan,
botanical name, common name, blooming season among others.

4.15.2 In the year 2019-20, it is proposed to develop a New Delhi Green
Digital Experience Centre at Nehru Park to facilitate visitors to have digital
information related to layouts, trees / plants and their importance etc., vertical
gardens, birds, butterflies, different features, seasonal dynamism, nursery
operations, composting, STPs in NDMC area.

4.16 Development of Theme Gardens
It is proposed that work of development of fine theme gardens like Herbal
Garden, Topiary Garden, Cactus & Succulents Garden, Fine Garden, Brielle
Garden, etc. would be undertaken during the year 2019-20.

4.17 Strengthening of NDMC's School of Gardening

4.17.1 School of Gardening of NDMC has provided basic gardening skills
training to NDMC's grass root level staff as well as staff of other Government
Departments like MCD in the previous years and will be provided to the staff
of DDA, GDA, TFAI, etc. during the year 2019-20.
