5.3.4.3 Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

5.3.4.3.1 Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PMJAY) is a
centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2018 by the Government of India.
Under the PMJAY a cover of Rs. 5 Lakh per family per year for secondary
and tertiary care will be provided. This scheme is cashless and paperless
treatment in case of hospitalization. Under this scheme following benefits are
included which are as under:
(i) Hospitalization expenses benefits
(ii) Day care benefits
(iii) Follow-up care benefits
(iv) Pre and Post hospitalization expenses benefits

(v) New born child / children benefits

5.3.4.3.2 New Delhi Municipal Council has two secondary level hospitals,
namely, Charak Palika Hospital (156 bedded) providing geriatric care to all
types of ailments including infectious and non infectious chronic non
communicable diseases to citizens, and Palika Maternity Hospital (65 bedded)
catering to maternity and neonatal services, for providing healthcare facilities
free of cost to General Public. Both hospitals are following immunization and
Pradhan Mantri Matru Suraksha Yojana.

5.3.4.3.3 It is proposed that NDMC maysign a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) for Charak Palika Hospital and Palika Maternity
Hospital to get associated with world largest healthcare insurance scheme
PMJAY in the year 2019-20 to provide families having Ayushman Bharat
Card medical and surgical treatment facilities at the Charak Palika Hospital
and Palika Maternity Hospital

5.3.4.4 Directorate of AYUSH
NDMC has established several AYUSH centres such as Unani Dispensaries at
Mandir Marg and Dharam Marg, Ayush Polyclinic at Mandir Marg, AYUSH
Wellness Centre at Dharam Marg, AYUSH Holistic Centre at Aurangzeb
