NDMC manages the transport fleet of 250 vehicles comprising of Diesel/HMV Vehicles petrol vehicles, E-vehicles, E-Bikes, Trucks, Tippers, Tower Ladders, JCB, Road Sweepers, Tractors and other utility vehicles of Civil, Electrical & Horticulture department etc. Proper maintenance of the vehicles and keeping the vehicles in road worthy at all times is the main role and responsibility of the department. The department also manages the NDMC Auto Workshop located at Laxmi Bai Nagar for repair & maintenance of NDMC vehicles
At present the repair & maintenance of all NDMC vehicles are carried out at Laxmi Bai Nagar, situated under Safdarjung Airport flyover in approximately 1.00 acre of land. The Auto Workshop, charging facility ofthe Electric vehicles is also available at Auto Workshop.
The Auto Workshop is equipped with major & minor repairs of all NDMC vehicles & machines. staff cars's, e-cars & other vehicles, The workshop is also carrying out the work of purchase of hiring of vehicles and condemnation of all old NDMC vehicles on completion of prescribed useful life period as approved by the Council Resolution. The repair & maintenance of few staff cars, CNG vehicles and other vehicles are also undertaken from authorized workshops of reputed manufacturers for which the required facilities are not available in our workshop.
