Achievements & Activities

The Public Relations Department is entrusted with the work to disseminate programmes, policies and activities of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) through Print Media, Electronic Media and other modes of publicity.

The Department functions through its various units; namely, Press Unit, Advertisement Unit, Photo & Video Unit, Publication Unit, Hospitality Unit, Library Unit, Hindi Unit and Centralized RTI Cell.

  • Department issued Press Invitations, Press Releases of various functions, events and decisions.
  • Department interact with the media persons to disseminating the information about NDMC’s different activities.
  • Organization of Press Conferences /  media meets to interact with Media Persons on specific issues arised time-to-time i.e. Tree Plantation & Sanitation Drive, Budget Presentation, Smart City Projects, e-Learning Class Rooms, NDMC mobile App etc.
  • Photography & videography coverage of various important event/function organized by NDMC. 
  • advertisements are issued on various occasions on behalf of NDMC in the form of tenders, auction notices, Public Notices and display.  
  • Advertisements are issued to the various souvenir of social, cultural, NGOs organizations and special issues published by Media Groups. 
  • Special Publicity Campaign
  • Publicity campaigns were launched on special occasions like Tree Plantation & Sanitation Drive, Don’t Burn Leaves drive, Anti Spitting Drive and Smart City Projects through Electronic & Print Media.
  • And also issued the publicity advertisements to the leading newspapers and souvenirs on Swachh Bharat Mission activities and Don’t burn leaves to protect environment and public health.
  • Electronic media publicity through the Radio spot / jingle broadcasting in various Radio/FM channels were also organized
  • Publicity through radio channels of 20% rebate  to Property Tax before last date i.e. 30 Sept

  {resulting this huge amount of property tax collected, this is highest in the last five years}

  • Radio publicity also conducted for the online payment facility of online payment of water & electricity bills to NDMC consumers
  • Arrangement of Banners & hoardings for the various events, publicity campaigns of NDMC. 
  • Publication of Budget book, Budget speech, Budget at a glance, Annual Report, greeting cards etc.
  • Procurement and distribution of Diaries and Calendars for Members and Senior Officers of NDMC.
  • Messages issued to various souvenir, magazines, annual report of social, cultural, NGOs organizations and special issues published by Media Groups. 
  • E-Citizen Charter (English version) uploaded on the NDMC website for awareness about general public.
  • Booking of the major Parks i.e. Central Park-Connaught Place, Nehru Park-Chanakyapuri, Talkatora Garden and Lodhi Garden till November, 2015.
  • Received RTI applications through Centralized RTI Cell for various departments and same forwarded to concerned department for their disposal.
  • Compile the monthly, quarterly and annual RTI report of all department disposals for further submission to the Central Information Commission (CIC).
  • Handling public grievances for various civic services and other matters received from PGC, CPGRAMS and Delhi Online websites.
  • Translation work of monthly Council Meeting Agenda, Annual Audit Reports, Budget Books & Budget Speech every year, various reports, manuals, Citizen Charter, background material of Smart City Project for the MoUD, DERC Report, RRs of the various post of NDMC, forms all public notice etc. by the Hindi branch.
  • Organized various Hindi competitions to promote the Hindi languages an official language on the occasion of “Hindi Pakhwada” and felicitated the employees and officers to excellent in these competitions.
  • Publication home journal of NDMC e-Magazine “Palika Samachar” quarterly in Hindi language.
  • Organized Hindi workshops quarterly.
  • New books were added in the Central & other Public Libraries and thousands of visitors visited libraries and books were issued to the members.
