Measures to conserve electricity and reduce the bill:
1. Switch over to Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) for general/task lighting in place of ordinary incandescent lamps & Fluorescent tubes. A 20W CFL provides more lighting than a 100W incandescent lamp, has 5 times more useful life and saves 21 units per month for 8 hours use/day. |

2. High consumption equipments, which are to be used simultaneously including stand, by equipments be provided with standard/ISI marked change-over switches to aprotected void their misuse and computation in the total connected load. |

3. Ensure purchasing standard/ISI marked CFL wiring materials and Eco-friendly energy efficient appliances like refrigerators, air-conditioners etc. |

4. Air Conditioner of 1.5 ton if used 8 hours a day has energy consumption charges of a minimum of Rs. 2,000/- per month. Similarly, Geysers/Electric Ovens of 1.5 to 2 KW if used for an average of 2 hours a day would result in an Energy Bill of about Rs. 400/- to Rs. 500/- per month. Thus use such appliances only when required. |
