As informed by DJB that production of potable water from wazirabad water plant is not running at full capacity due to non availability of raw water, hence water supply in command area of Tilak Marg UGR & Bangali market UGR will be made available once in a day and preferably in morning time. Due to the shortage of water supply, the area will be affected like Bengali Market, Ashoka Road, Harichand Mathur Lane, Copernicus Marg, Purana Quila Road, Babar Road, Barakhamba, K G Marg, Windsor Place, Firozshah Marg, Canning Lane and surrounding area. It was on 12th December 1911 that the transfer of the seat of the Government of India from Calcutta to Delhi was announced. After detailed examination, survey and debate, Raisina Hill was selected as the most appropriate site for the Viceregal Palace and the area East, North and South of it chosen for the new capital. Edwin Lutyens and his compatriot Herbert Baker built the new capital of India Delhi Set-up had recommended that a fresh law governing NDMC should be passed by the Parliament for proper organization and functioning of the New Delhi Municipal Council. Consequent upon enforcement of Constitution (Seventy Fourth Amendment) Act, several provisions in Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 had to be brought in tune with Part IXA of the Constitution before 31st May, 1994.
